At the Galloway Activity Centre we cater for mountain bikers of all abilities, from gentle family cycles in the lovely surroundings of the Galloway Forest Park, to the more extreme single track trails of the local 7Stanes.  We offer tuition and guidance from our fully qualified SMBLA (Scottish Mountain Bike Leaders Award) Trail Cycle Leaders.

With great local knowledge they will guide you around the local routes, giving you hints and tips along the way.  They may even show you a few hidden gems.

From hourly bike hire to mountain biking holidays, we are sure to have something for everybody.

Galloway Forrest Park
The Galloway Activity Centre lies just on the edge of the Galloway Forest Park, offering some fascinating treks right on our doorstep.

A quick ferry across the Loch in our RIB will drop you at the foot of Bennan Hill, the entrance to the "Raiders Road"  A gentle cycle through the forest amongst towering pine will bring you to the "Otters Pool" where you can stop for a break and hopefully spot an Otter or two!

This route is great for young families and cyclists who prefer a more relaxing country trek.

With the development of the 7Stanes, Dumfries and Galloway has become renowned over the past few years for offering some of the best mountain biking in the U.K. if not the world.

The Galloway Activity Centre in perfectly located to offer a range of services linked to the 7Stanes.  We are centrally located to 5 of 7stanes (Ae, Mabie, Dalbeattie, Kirrochtree and Glentrool) making us a great hub from which to base your mountain bike trip.

Tuition and Guided Treks
Our SMBLA (Scottish Mountain Bike Leader Award)  qualified Instructors can guide you around the local tracks giving you hints and tips along the way, making your trip as fun and safe as possible.

Hire
We have a fleet of Trek 4300 disk and MT220s for small kids which are available to hire from anything from an hour to a day.  See our price list for further details.

 

Accommodation
We offer a range of self catering or fully catered accommodation.  From our 2 berth Loch side cabins to our 20 bed fully equipped Bunkhouse Lodge.  If wild camping is more your thing, why not try our  tipi!

With a drying room, secure storage, bike stand and hose all onsite, the Galloway Activity Centre makes the perfect base from which to enjoy the full potential of the local trails.
