There are many paths to becoming an outdoor activity instructor. At the Galloway Activity Centre we offer a range of Instructor courses form 1, 2, 4 and even 12 week fast track options.

From experienced sailors, windsurfers or kayakers looking to qualify as an instructor, to beginners who are perhaps looking at a career change. We have options to suit everybody.

We run a vast range of instructor courses throughout the season. We cover a range of disciplines from RYA Dinghy Instructor, Windsurfing Instructor and Powerboat Instructor, to the BCU Level 1 Paddlesport Coach.

Fast track options
Our fast track courses are designed to allow those with little or no experience get on the path to becoming an instructor. From a 2 week course designed to take people with some background skills up to instructor standard, to a full on 12 week fast track course, aiming to qualify you in a range of outdoor instructor awards.

Work placements
We offer a limited number of work placements each year to college students sitting Outdoor Education courses. These placements include a training package which aims to qualify you in 1-2 outdoor instructor disciplines. Find out more, or enquire now>
